Genesis of Passion: From a Portuguese Village to Data Analytics Pioneering
Born into a hardworking family in Portugal, my early exposure to computers through my father's role as an accountant ignited a passion for technology and management. After completing my Master's Degree in Computer Engineering at IST in Lisbon, I joined the top international consultancy firm, Capgemini. It was during this time that I had my first data analysis project, setting the stage for a career driven by a fervor for leveraging data to make a difference in business.
Forging Paths: Mentorship, Challenges, and the Leap to Independence
Recognizing the need for mentorship, I embraced the challenge of international projects by joining a specialized data analytics consultancy in London, UK. Under the guidance of super stars BI Consultants and mentors, I honed technical skills, consultancy soft-skills, and deepened my understanding of the banking sector. Realizing the potential impact of data analytics, I took a significant leap, leaving my comfort zone to become an independent data expert. This strategic move involved overcoming challenges such as adapting to a new country, a different work environment, and a foreign language.
Triumphs in Data: Navigating Challenges, Shaping Success, and Impacting Global Companies
After delivering high-quality work, I faced a major crossroads – an opportunity to extend my high-impact projects in New York for the "Bank of America" or return to Europe. Despite the allure, I chose to return to London, and after the 2012 financial recession hit Europe. This marked the beginning of my independent consultancy journey. Over the past 12 years, I've evolved from a consultant to a technical leader and finally to a data analytics solution architect. Working with major international companies such as Vodafone, Deutsche Bank, and Philips, I successfully implemented various data analysis solutions, transforming organizational processes and showcasing adaptability in diverse settings.
